New to Iwakuni Area

New to Iwakuni Area

I just came from Okinawa and want to fish in the Iwakuni area. Could anyone tell me about Japanese laws of fishing and where can one fish and not fish here in the Iwakuni area. The base fishing just got closed down due to the new runway. Any help would be appreicated.

Well, damn...that explains why it's been nearly two months with no word back about my on base license =/

Actually, that probably has more to do with the "game warder," who works at the phone office and gets around to fishing permits on some undetermined schedule. I hounded him daily, so I got mine in about 2 weeks.
