Nationality:Canadian
Age: 31
Location: Fukuoka Japan
Favorite Fishes:Salmon, suzuki and yellowtails
Comments: I've been living in Fukuoka Japan and am happily married for more than 3 years now. Fishing is my passion so coming to Japan was surpsrisingly good considering Japan is completly covered by ocean. I recently have started up a touring/guiding service to help people who are new to Japanese fishing, also will be making kids fishing workshops. In my personal time I like to go fishing off our local surfbreaker and what ever is in season.

Name: Thomas Northcote (aka. Spudcote, Junoir, Brit, among other names...)
Nationality: British, but lived in Taiwan, HK, and now livning in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Age: 17
Favourite fish: Salmon (particularly Chinooks), and halibut, I'm anticipating this list to grow a bit in the next year or so.
Comments: Grew up in Asia, now living in Canada, but from the UK, I love to travel around. I was advised to find something you love and find a way to make money doing it, so I applied at a fishing lodge, and they took my the first season I could go. I'm entering my 3rd season in the north of BC (British Columbia, Canada),and have no regrets. Being out of Asia for so long, and now that I'm finishing up high school, I have a hankering to go back. So I'll be drifting through the area to do a bit of fishing and partying back "home" at the end of the summer.

Great looking site Nigel, and look forward to meeting you in person.[/img]
Early to bed,
Early to rise,
Fish all day,
Make up lies !!!

Hope to see you all on the water,

Howdy folks. Been lure fishing since year 2000 in Japan now. Started with freshwater bass in Chiba right in my back yard at the Tonegawa. Moved right along to Seabass and Trout and loving every single minute of it!

Hi guys, ciao a tutti, hola a todos. :)
Nigel, it works! Thanx for your good job. This forum is so cool!

I live in Yokohama, close to Port of Yokohama. I usually fish in Tokyo bay and Sagami bay, with some bad guys in this forum and another. 8) Seabass, Rockfish, Tuna, Bonito, Dorado, Yellowtail etc. etc.
I also love BB, trout and Filefish too. :D But very best is GT. Unfortunately no GT in my home field. So I have to fly south.... have to work now. :( bye.

Hi Fishermen,

my Name is Christian, iàm 34 years old, living in karlsruhe/germany.

I love saltwater fishing with poppers for GT,sail and all the other species you call "light tackle fishes".

At february this year i meet a group of japanese fishermen at the maledives, and they tell me that japanese people love fishing for big gt at the maledives.

now, at february 2006 i want to travel to the maledives again for 14 days.

on this way, i look out for interested fishermen from japan or from the united states who have fun at fishing and have fun to come with us to the maledives.

i think that it is a good way to meet new and friendly people, learn new ways for fishing, learn the language and have fun.

are you interested?

here the hard facts:
14 days live and fishing at maledives, no expensive hotel needed !!!
we live, eat, fish and sleep 24 hours a day at our safariboat "Mas Hibaru".
period: 15.02.2006 to 02.03.2006
places: 4 fishermen and 4 places for our wifes/girlfriends
price: 1890 € (1300$) per person, incl. flights at frankfurt/main,14 days at the "Mas Hibaru", complete eating, sightseeing at last day at male

you need only 50 € for drinks/14 days.

i think the flights at frankfurt/main is not the best for you, but if you interested, you can send me an e-mail and i can tell you the price for other
airports or only the price for the boat and you book your flights self.
my e-mail address is: NCSeidl@aol.com

more Questions? ask me........

Hi,

I'm from Mauritius,

I spent 2 years in the U.K surfcasting around the south coast, my usual venue was in Kent.

Now back in Mauritius, I've discovered light line luring/plugging. I started to get more involved this year.

My favorite fish is the Jack and the Trevally.

I'm mainly a shore fisherman.

Favorite Fishes:Sebarau, Mangrove Jack and last but not the least the Giant Snakehead, I also like the occasional Tarpons (really puny here but really fun to catch)

Comments: I've been fishing all my life, but realistically I stopped fishing about 8 years back and I just started to get back into gear about a year back, I have been using fishing as an excuse to travel all over Malaysia, so I have plenty of fishing adventures to tell and hopefully more to come.I was from the isaland called Penang in Malaysia and fishing is just 15min away, since I moved to KL, fishing is mainly payponds, hence the loads and loads of travelling on long weekends, searching for the elusive spot... that will yield the best fishing for the day....

Age: 30
Nationality: Australian
Location: Launceston, Tasmania (Australia).
Favourite Fish: Trevally for the fight, stream trout for the locations you catch them in.
Comments: I grew up in Sydney Australia and moved down to Tassie about 6 years ago for some aquaculture work and am now completing a PhD in Marine biology down here in which I am researching squid, when finished, my wife and I will move on to hopefully greener pastures. I've been fishing since I was a little tacker but got really keen after breaking a leg in the summer holidays when I was 11. Nowdays I mainly lure fish for trout and various local saltwater species and for the last 3 years I've been doing a fair bit of kayak fishing.
Cheers

Fishing Noobie

Postby NipponDave » Sat Jan 19, 2008 11:35 pm

I was SO glad to find this site!! Wanna say thanks first to Nigel and others who've put the time in to make this site so good.

I've been living in Fukuoka for the past fifteen years, and am married with three kids. We recently decided to buy a boat - and it is finally arrving in two weeks! My wife and I started the Class one boating license couse today, and she got her towing license last week, so we are getting prepared...

My dad was a devoted hunter/fisherman when I was growing up, so I went out with him regularly until we moved from Lousiana to California when I was 13, and he got busy at work. I've done a good bit of scuba and snorkelling in the 30 years since, but have forgotten just about everything I ever learned about boating and fishing. So I'll need your help, please!

I'm really looking forward to learning from the "sempai" on this site, and hope I'll be able to meet some of you in Japan.

Yoroshiku!
