Anyone near Shimonoseki? It would be great to hook-up

Hey Mark... :wel: to Yamaguchi...
You are in "Lower" Seki...and I'm in "Upper" Seki. You are also a lot closer to the awesome charter boats in Fukuoka.
Do you have a car? Straight north of Shimo is the HouHoku-cho coast...great fishing spots everywhere.
A little further is Yuya, then Nagato.
At Yuya, turn left and follow the road until it ends. That is Kawajiri Misaki. I catch yellowtail on poppers and metal lures from the rocks.
At Nagato, you can fish under the bridge or in the harbour for yellowtail and Spanish mackeral.

send me a PM.
cheers...Pat in Kaminoseki

In England, I used to fish on the Avon for roach, dace and bream. Occasionally I'd go out on boats wreck-fishing, but some of the best sport was mackerel fishing with coarse gear off of Torquay peer. Now I'm fishing off of a peer in Karato, Shimonoseki. I'm picking a few tips up from locals - bagged a few saiori and other little 'uns (can't remember their names right now). The best so far was a red sea-bream. Something big got away a couple of days ago :? , so I've gone heavier on the hook-length. I think I'll try for squid, too - I saw someone land one as long as my arm a week ago.....

Fishing: Been fishing up here for a few years now. Mainly catch ainame, kochi (flatheads?), mebaru, boijyou, kare and saba. Got a saori the otehr day, caught it by habd by the tail, as it was jammed in between a few tetras!! Could hardly believe my eyes when i saw it!. I use lugworm, gulp rubber worms, vibe lures, and metal jigs. Keen to try for squid this month if anyone has any tips??

Would be good to hook up (pardon the pun) with anyone on here up North.
